MTC Haldenwanger – Absent 99, 7 Insulator
The best high-temperature ceramic material for thermocouple insulation is with 99,7% Al2O3 (the difference is mainly MgO and SiO2).
- Type C 799 according to DIN EN 60672
- Refractoriness up to 1700 °C
- Good thermal shock resistance due to high thermal conductivity
- High mechanical strength
- High electrical resistivity

MTC Haldenwanger – MGO Thermocouple Insulator
The magnesium oxide insulator is used for the cartridge heater, the sheathed heater, and the glow plug because the magnesium oxide is superior in the electric insulation characteristics (1014Ω) and the heat conductance (60W・m-1・K-1).
The magnesium oxide insulator is used as an insulated core that wraps an exothermic wire and as a guide insulator that guides a metal wire. We can produce the magnesium oxide insulator of various purities and various densities (=strength). In addition, we can produce the high purity product and various shape and the size (outside diameter, hole diameter, pitch, and length). Therefore, if our insulator is used, it becomes easy to produce the heater.
